We are happy to announce another team rider to the Starboard Dream Team! Welcome to the French wave sailor Alexandre Grand-Guillot. The 24-year-old wave sailor combines his windsurfing career with Business School in France. He is from La Manche, and you will always see him on the beach when the swell hits the French coast. He started competing in the PWA wave tour as a youngster when he was 15 years old. He has been on tour since then. With his motivation and skills, we can’t wait to see what he can do in the future! Besides competing he will also share his passion for windsurfing through a lot of video projects.
He just got his new Ultra Kodes.

«My father used to windsurf when I was younger and at the age of 11 I started windsurfing. Since then I have never stopped! I started the first local competitions in slalom. After that, I did my first French championship with my club. I decided later to only concentrate on the wave discipline when I was 16-17 years old. Today this passion has almost become my job. It is pushing me to improve myself every day!
Since I was a kid, the Starboard Dream Team, has always had riders that inspired me to become a professional windsurfer. It’s an honor today to be able to be part of it and represent this great brand of windsurfing! The environmental ethics of Starboard is very important to me. I am happy to be able to collaborate with a brand that cares about the planet. It’s a dream come true and I hope it’s the beginning of a long adventure!
I tested my new Ultra Kodes for the first time now in the PWA Cape Verde. It was a childhood dream to be able to go to this dream destination for the first contest of the year. During the heats, I didn’t manage to express myself at 100%. It’s a very technical spot and the conditions were not easy. I would have liked to do better, but it didn’t happen like that. That’s how competition is sometimes, and now I’m focusing on the next events! It was a highlight to also be able to wave sail other incredible spots on the island. I’ll be back there for sure! I’ll keep an eye on the weather forecast to try to come back when Ponta Preta can show its full potential!
My plan now at home in France is to get all my new Ultra Kodes that are waiting for me! The plan is to train with my new boards. I will try to move around France to follow the wind and take pictures. I would also like to go to the Canaries before the PWA Pozo to train a bit there. And of course, catch up with my missed lessons at school=)»
