“We have one more event to go this year in France. It’s going to be a grand slam which means I’ll be competing in all three disciplines at one event. That’s going to be a challenge! This time of year I think Brasil is probably the best place in the world to prepare.
Life is easy here, it’s warm, the sun is shining and it’s windy every single day.
Oda decided one day she wanted to make this clip and it was a fun quick project to do together!
Fun fact: As soon as the camera starts rolling I get stressed and can’t stick my moves and get upset with myself. Because I want to perform the best I can and show some new moves.
The first freestyle session she started filming there wasn’t enough wind for my 4,0 and we were going to leave it for another day, but then I decided to rig up the 4,4 and all of a sudden everything came together. I was powered, the waves started rolling in and I was landing move after move! I felt so confident after landing the first air chachoo, that I tried it with more power and a bigger wave. But I got catapulted on that one. And that’s when Oda made me get off the water hahaha… That session was magical!
I’m stoked how the clip came out! Watch it in the link above or click here to watch it on Facebook.
This way you get a better insight into who I am as a rider and what drives me.
I’m looking forward to making more of these!”
