The last stop of the Wave World Tour is finished and we know the Champions! The PWA/IWT Aloha Classic took place on beautiful Maui at Ho’okipa Beach Park. During the event, our Starboard Wave riders were unstoppable and finished at the absolute top. Antoine Martin claimed his first place at the 2023 Aloha Classic and defended his position from last year. Our Queen of Windsurfing Sarah-Quita Offringa finished first after the single elimination. In addition, she took home her 3rd World Wave Title and 22nd World Title overall. Both our riders were using the 2024 Starboard Hyper. Therefore the Starboard Hyper is the winning board of the 2023 Aloha Classic.
Antoine about his triumph at the Aloha Classic and plans for the next season:
“It’s the second time that I have won this event. The feeling is still exceptional because it is the best event of the whole Wave Tour. No matter how many times I win the Aloha Classic on Maui, it will always be special. I have goosebumps and I am really stoked. The best riders from the tour in combination with the local rippers and legends make this competition even harder. I think having such a challenge makes the win even better. I am really happy to win this event two times already. The conditions were not easy with head-height to over-head-height waves and light wind. I used my Starboard Hyper 88L with a 5.2 sail. Until the end of the year, I will attend the French Championships. Then I will enjoy some nice recovery time at home in December. After the New Year, I start the training as the season starts with an event in Japan already in February. I plan to keep doing the tour, working with my friend Matteo on the YLEM project, and continue to travel and discover new places for windsurfing. My goal is to push my limits and try some new moves next year. Let’s make windsurfing better than ever!”
