The 2024 FPT European Tow-In finale took place from the 18th to the 22nd of September in Geneva, Switzerland. Breathtaking scenery and great organization from the Freestyle Pro Tour welcomed freestyles from all around Europe. After an exceptional performance in both Vieste and Geneva, Lennart Neubauer was crowned the 2024 Tow-In European Champion, showcasing why he’s one of the top stars in freestyle windsurfing. The 2024 Tow-In European Championship not only highlighted the incredible talent of regular competitors like Lennart but also shined a light on the next generation of windsurfers like our young Starboard rider Leander Halm. As Lennart continues to push the limits of what’s possible, riders like Leander are already stepping up, eager to make their mark on the sport.
Lennart Neubauer claimed another title!
From the moment Lennart hit the water, it was clear that Neubauer was on a mission to dominate. One of his opening tricks, an Air Funnel 720, saw him spinning twice in the air with smooth precision, landing it perfectly. This difficult move set the tone for his routine and wowed the crowd early on. As his run continued, Lennart pulled off a Double Air Culo, a move that only the best riders can do with such control. In Geneva, Lennart finished in second place which secured him an overall win of the 2024 European Tow-In Championship. Lennart was using the Starboard iGNiTE 93L. Between the runs, he managed to score some tow-in runs on his Starboard iGNiTE AiR to impress the crowd.
A rising star Leander Halm
One of the standout performances came from 16-year-old Leander Halm, a rising star in the freestyle windsurfing world. Despite his young age, Leander showed incredible skill and creativity throughout the event. His fearless approach and natural talent have many people already calling him the future of the sport. While Leander didn’t reach a podium this year, his performance was a clear message to the windsurfing community: he’s a serious contender, and it’s only a matter of time before he claims his own titles.
