After not being able to travel to Maui for some years, due to the pandemic, dream team rider Antoine Martin finally made it back to the island and back to the infamous break: Hookipa. When Martin won the Aloha Classic in 2019, he made his status as one of the most progressive riders on tour official. In mid January he released the video ‘Dying II Live’, a tribute to Mark Angulo: one of the most inspiring riders sinde the 80ies and the innovator of the ‘modern’ wavesailing style. Antoine stated: ‘I haven’t been there during Covid and after a good trip on the island, I remember why Hookipa is so addictive. The amount of creativity that this place allows is phenomenal! The consistency of the conditions, the worlds best sailing around you and pushing you. I’ve no doubt that I’ll come back there for many years again.’
