MAXIMUM LIGHTWIND EFFICIENCY
Designed around the concept of Ultra planing: maximum efficiency in the lightest winds. When there are barely white caps on the water, the UltraSonic 147 gets going and flies on the water. With every gust and every wave, you can tune the board to foil up and fly, picking up speed and passing lulls like they’re not even there.
Designed specifically for maximum light wind efficiency, it is longer than the regular iSonics to quicker glide on to the plane. When foiling, it makes them more forgiving as well. The footstrap inserts and less boxy rail shape compared to the iSonics also provide a more comfortable, less powerful stance.
The UltraSonic design starts from the iSonic base and loses more thickness for a wide and slim profile. The current shape is 7mm thinner than the previous generation for a wide wind range. The zero tail-kick rocker provides a smooth entry into planing while making the board easy to control when fully powered up.
The cut-away shapes, combined with the side cut-outs and heel extensions reduce wetted area for the same lift, which makes it more efficient. The fin gains traction and the board locks on to its fin. Most importantly, the width of the tail remains identical to provide power, anti-roll stability through chop and acceleration out of a jibe.
Heel extensions allow the back foot to apply a positive pressure on the rail.
Without them, there would be a slippery angle of the rail and your back foot would fail to provide constant power.
Under the footstraps, the rails are more comfortable and less boxy than on the iSonics. This makes the board more comfortable, the straps are easier to get into and there is less burning-power in your back thigh when fully-powered.
OUR MOST INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
The UltraSonics are available in our new construction designed for the lightest weight but also the lowest carbon footprint; Flax Balsa. Natural end-grain balsa covers the bottom of the board, providing the board with its overall stiffness and reduced weight. The full sandwich deck uses natural uni-directional flax fibres with carbon stripes to reinforce and stiffen the most stressed sections.
CARBON TECHNOLOGY – RECYCLED SANDWICH CORE
Our UltraSonics are also available in Carbon technology. We are proud to present our all-new Carbon technology. It uses a new sandwich core material made from 100% recycled post-consumer PET bottles: ArmaForm® PET GR100. The bottom is made from full UD Carbon and the deck is built from two types of carbon laid in three different orientations that combine to make Carbon technology light weight and responsive.
